Black paint is a test of patience and technique. When it is right, it looks like a wet mirror, the kind of depth that makes body lines appear carved and the sky look sharper in the panels than overhead. When it is not right, every swirl mark, water spot, and bit of road film jumps out. Ceramic coating can lock in that deep, glossy finish and make it easier to keep clean, but only if the surface is prepared with care and the application respects the quirks of black paint.
